Similar to many ASTM specifications, the ASTM A182 F22 Flange is required to conform to the mechanical and chemical requirements of this particular specification. Speaking of the mechanical properties, the fittings or SA182 F22 Blind Flange is required to conform to the tensile strength, yield strength, elongation as well as Brinell hardness values as mentioned herein. Since the Alloy Steel F22 Forged Fittings have undergone a forging operation, the resultant component would have better mechanical properties for e.g. better ductility, better impact resistance and fatigue resistance. During forging operation, the grain flows of the material, which in this case could be either stainless steel or alloy steel tend to get altered, thereby conforming to the shape i.e. the A182 F22 Alloy Steel Plate Flange.
Flanges or fittings intended for use at elevated temperatures are produced in accordance with specification ASTM A182.
To improve the heat resistance properties of the metal, the Alloy Steel A182 F22 Threaded Fittings are required to be furnished with heat treatment, using the correct method. The heat treatment practised on AS SA 182 Gr F22 Slip On Flanges needs to meet the requirements put forth by the specification by following the heat treatment type, austenitizing/solution temperature as well as the cooling media, and quenching.
