These elemental additions make the 70/30 Copper Nickel Pipe Flanges somewhat more resistant to corrosion and erosion whilst making provisions for slightly improved strength level in comparison to CU NI 90/10. Thus, making the Werkstoff No.2.0882 Cupro Nickel 70/30 RTJ Flange well suited for more demanding applications. In particular, the corrosion resistance properties are notably improved in waters, where the velocity is as high up to 4.5m/s and polluted seawater. Since the material is readily cold worked, fabricated and welded without the need for any special material considerations, it can be used to produce different shaped flanges.
Cu Ni 70/30 is an alloy whose primary constituent is about 70% copper, along with 30% nickel as well as with additions of elements such as iron and manganese.

UNS C71500 70/30 Copper Nickel Blind Flanges are used to seal off or shut off a section of a valve that is a part of piping systems. Blind flanges are generally used in high pressured applications and are often fastened using bolts. While most applications use flanges that could be welded, in instances where welding is not an option, the specified ASTM A151 Cu-Ni 70/30 Threaded Flanges are used. For example, industries that deal with highly flammable or explosive compounds, threaded flanges offer speedy and quick, connections. In instances where piping systems require connections with bore size NPS 2 or smaller, Cupro Nickel Werkstoff No 2.0882 SWRF Flanges are preferred. Typically these flanges are used for low pressured applications. In terms of cost, using a Cu-Ni 70/30 Slip On Flanges proves to be a much cheaper option as compared to weld neck flanges.
