Belonging to the category of duplex steels, these fittings have better properties. For instance, Super Duplex Fittings have a higher pitting resistance equivalent (PRE*) number. Generally, a higher PREN score or PREN value is indicative of superior pitting resistance. In the case of UNS S32750 Super Duplex Forged Fittings, the PREN score is higher than 40, which suggests that the alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance properties but also excellent strength properties. In particular, super duplex grades like UNS S32750 has superior localized corrosion resistance, much more than alloy grade UNS S32205 (NAS329J3L, SUS329J3L), as well as grade UNS S32506 (NAS64, SUS329J4L). Therefore, most manufacturers recommend using Werkstoff No 1.4410 Super Duplex Buttweld Fittings for those applications that have severe environments such as chemical plants and desalination plants.
NAS74N or as referred to by its trade name UNS S32750 is a super duplex stainless steels.
Moreover, the increase in both chromium and molybdenum contents, is what provides the Super Duplex Elbow Fittings with increased corrosion resistance in comparison to traditional duplex grades. Super Duplex alloys typically offer the same benefits as its counterpart; which means that the Super Duplex 2507 Pipe Fittings have lower alloying costs in comparison to similar ferritic and austenitic grades with equipment corrosion resistance in chlorine solution containing environments. This is due to the increased tensile and yield strength of Super Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe Fitting.
