AISI 4130 or as also known as SAE 4130 is a low-alloy steel grade. This alloy contains an addition of both chromium as well as molybdenum as strengthening agents. Being a versatile alloy grade, the 4130 Aircraft Steel SORF Flanges tend to exhibit good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and while offering reasonable tensile strength. Overall the attractive combination of properties such as strength, toughness in addition to fatigue strength is why these API 60k Alloy Steel AISI 4130 Flanges are used in several applications. In fact, these properties are maintained even when the alloy has been exposed to a temperature as high as 600º F.
The chemistry of this alloy grade is why the AISI 4130 Flanges offer good strength and toughness properties, along with weldability and machinability properties as well.
Although slightly expensive than regular carbon steel alloys, this grade of Alloy Steel 4130 Screwed Pipe Flange finds many applications as forgings in the aerospace as well as in the oil and gas industry. Not forgetting its use in the agricultural, automotive and defence industries. Since the alloy is an intermediate strength material grade, the 4130 Forging Pipe Flange could be produced in a lighter gauge. A lighter gauged component offer lighter weight, with the maintenance of the materials great strength, thus making the 4130 60k Blind Flange an excellent inclusion for both auto racing and aerospace.
