NAS 625 or as referred to by its other trade names i.e. Inconel 625, NCF 625 and UNS N06625 is a nickel based alloy. Similar to other nickel based alloys, the Inconel 625 Flanges produced under specification ASTM B564 are to conform to several parameters with regards to its chemistry, testing and mechanical properties. Whereas each specimen of these flanges is to be administered a nondestructive ultrasonic test along with a tension test.
Along with the mechanical properties of UNS N06600 Alloy 625 Flanges such as the tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation, the grain size of the alloy is determined as well.

The Matrix of the alloy has been stiffened on account of provisions made by the addition of elements molybdenum and niobium. These two elements result in the Inconel 625 Weld Neck Flanges gaining a higher tensile strength. Inconel 625 not only resists a wide range of severely corrosive environments but also offers resistance at elevated temperature settings. Applications of the ASTM B564 Inconel 625 Slip on Flanges includes its use as parts in chemical and garbage incinerator plants. The alloy serves as an excellent general purpose material for use elevated temperature where oxidation is considered to be a problem area. Therefore the Werkstoff No. 2.4816 Alloy 625 Blind Flange particularly finds application in the aerospace as well as the offshore oil & gas industries. Due to the alloys high pitting, crevice and stress corrosion resistance properties, the Alloy 625 Forging Flanges are also used in Flue gas desulphurisation plant, flare stacks, phosphoric acid production and nuclear fuel processing, offshore sour oil and gas production and in waste incineration industries.
