The Inconel 625 Fittings are considered to be an excellent general purpose material for use at elevated temperature, especially if high tensile strength and resistance to oxidation are considered to be primary requirements. Therefore Werkstoff No. 2.4856 Inconel 625 Buttweld Fittings finds application in the aerospace industry along with offshore oil & gas industries. Inconel 625 fittings present excellent resistance properties to a variety of corrosive media.
Alloy 625 is a nickel based chromium and molybdenum containing alloy with a small niobium and tantalum addition.
Along with demonstrating excellent resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, stress related corrosion cracking, corrosion fatigue and erosion corrosion, the UNS N06625 Inconel 625 Forged Fittings have the ability to maintain its mechanical properties even up to a temperature of about 450 ºC. Alloy 625 is highly resistant to a wide range of organic and mineral acids as well. The JIS NCF 625 Alloy 625 Buttweld Elbow is one such nickel alloy that has the superior corrosion resistance characteristics in conjunction with good resistance to sulphides and chlorides at high temperatures. The addition of niobium and tantalum within the matrix of the Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings acts in conjunction with the molybdenum to provide a high strength alloy, that too without the need for additional heat treatment given to the alloy.
Components like the Alloy 625 Fittings are used in applications such as exposure to seawater and where high mechanical stresses are required. Moreover, these fittings could be used in oil and gas production where hydrogen sulphide and elementary sulphur exist at a temperature exceeding150C.
