Stainless Steel 904L Plate is made up of a non – stabilized austenitic stainless steel. The material has low carbon content and sulfur addition. This special composition makes the SS 904L Plates to have high resistance against reducing acids, especially the sulfuric acid. Suryadeep Industry is a leading manufacturer and supplier of the Grade 904L Steel Plates in different types and forms. The material is corrosion resistant to pitting, cracking and crevice corrosions. It has good weldability, excellent formability and toughness. The 904L Stainless Steel Coils are also used in applications for these high mechanical properties of the material along with the corrosion resistance. The material however is expensive due to the composition of the 904L Stainless Steel Sheets. The composition includes carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, molybdenum, nickel and copper. Nowadays, the Alloy 904L Coils and sheets are mostly replaced with suitable duplex grades; mostly 2205.
There are different finishes to the plates such as the ASTM A240 SS 904L Chequered Plate and polished plates. The material is strong with 220MPa minimum yield strength and 490MPa minimum tensile strength. The SS 904L Cold Rolled Plate also has a good hardness. The Brinell hardness value of the material is 150. The material could be heat treated at temperatures above 1090 degrees Celsius. However, the SS 904L High Quality Plates can only operate up to 400 degrees Celsius of temperature. At temperatures exceeding this limit, the structural stability is lost. The SS 904L CR Steel Plates can be fabricated and welded easily. The sheets and plates are used in electrostatic applications, oil refineries, seawater cooling systems, pulp and paper industry, acetic production plants, phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid processing plants and so on. Please contact us for 904L Stainless Steel Shim Sheets or any other forms of these plates and any custom orders.
