Stainless Steel 429 Sheet is made up of a ferritic steel that is mostly known as 429 chromium steel. The material is made up of chromium at 14 – 16%, silicon, manganese, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur and iron. The ASTM A240 429 (S42900) Stainless Steel Plates can be welded easily and they are corrosion resistant. The material has 310MPa minimum yield strength and 490MPa minimum tensile strength. The thermal conductivity of the material is also good. The 429 stainless steel plates are hard with 88 Rockwell B hardness when annealed. The corrosion resistance and strength makes the material to be used in high temperature, high pressure and outdoor applications as well. The ASTM A240 429 stainless steel plate is specified for pressure vessels and general corrosive applications.
There are different standards used to such as the JIS G4304 SUS429 Stainless Steel Plate for the different application circumstances. The sheets come in different forms such as coils, rolls, circles and others. The SUS 429 Sheets are used in indoor applications because of the corrosion resistance and the aesthetic look. Construction of internal structures also utilizes the corrosion resistance and strength properties of the material. The aisi 429 stainless steel sheet is also used to make decorations of household items and indoor products. There are gadgets made up of this corrosion resistant grade 429 stainless steel plate that can last longer without changing the look. Please contact us for more information about the products such as the ss 429 strip and their variations.

Grade | Reasons for choosing the grade |
416 | High machinability is required, and the lower corrosion resistance of 416 is acceptable. |
420 | A higher hardened strength or hardness than can be obtained from 410 is needed. |
440C | A higher hardened strength or hardness than can be obtained even from 420 is needed |
Equipment | Size Range | Standard Internal Tolerances (Inch) |
---|---|---|
Dynamic Waterjet | 20 Gauge sheets through 8 inch thickness range, Our two largest table sizes are: 124″x 241″ and 78.8” X 305.5” | Part tolerances of ±.030” is standard. Tolerances of ±.005” can be provided. Tolerances may vary depending on thickness |
Plasma | Up to 6.25″ thickness, Plasma Table Size = 10ft X 65ft. 429 Stainless steel Sheet can be plasma cut from 3/16″ thick thru 6.25″ thick. |
Varies by thickness. State of the art equipment enables significantly better tolerances than older plasma technologies. |
