Stainless Steel 304 Sheet is one of the most widely used metallic sheets in the world. It is a versatile material that is also known as the 18/8 stainless steel. Suryadeep Industry is a leading manufacturer and supplier of the Stainless Steel 304 Plate types. There are 304L and 304H varieties based on the carbon content in the composition. The SS 304 Plate does not need intermediate annealing to deep draw because of the austenitic structure that is present balanced in the material. The material also does not request post weld annealing and that is one of the reasons why it is used widely. The SS 304 Sheets have good mechanical properties and welding ability. The composition has carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen and 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The SS 304 Coils are a form of the plates that is used in the coiled shape for the same properties.
The tensile strength of the material is 515MPa and the minimum yield strength is 205MPa. The 304 Stainless Steel Plate also has high thermal conductivity and electric conductivity. The material is heavy with 8 grams per centimeter cube density. The 304 Stainless Steel Sheet has good corrosion resistance but is vulnerable to pitting and crevice corrosion. However the material could be used in harsh environments with cladding material of higher grades. The SS 304 Circle is also used in high temperature applications. The material can perform up to 870 degrees Celsius for intermittent services and up to 925 degrees Celsius for continuous services. The 304 Stainless Steel Hot Rolled Plates are solid solution annealed above 1110 degrees Celsius to bring the added strength. However, it cannot be further hardened by heat treatment.
