13CRMO4-5 Steel Plates is a steels that is used for high temperature services and pressure vessels. The material has 1-1.5% chromium in the composition. The EN 10028-2 13CrMo4-5 steel plates varies in thickness from 6mm to 300mm. The width of the plates vary from 1500mm to 2050mm and the length can be from 3000mm to 15000 mm. There are variations like the foils, coils and strips as well. The chemical composition of the plates includes carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, copper, molybdenum and nickel in the composition. The composition also makes the 13CRMO45 Plates stronger. The material has up to 600MPa minimum tensile strength and up to 300MPa minimum yield strength. The thickness of the material influences the minimum tensile strength and the minimum yield strength.
The plates with less than 16mm in thickness have the highest yield and tensile strength values where the ones with more than 250mm thickness have 240MPa minimum yield strength and 420-570MPa minimum yield strength. The EN 10028-2 13CrMo4-5 steel grade can be normalized and tempered. The normalized and tempered type of heat treatment is applied to plates with less than 100mm thickness. The plates of 100 – 150mm are normalized and tempered or quenched and tempered. Both heat treatments provide better strength. The plates of more than 150mm can be quenched and tempered. The Alloy 13CrMo4-5 Sheet is used in high pressure and high temperature applications.
